SAN JOSE'S BEST BICYCLE RIDES 

San Jose provides visiting cyclists with cycling routes for every occasion. Here are four classic rides that we recommend. There are a plethora of cycling opportunities in San Jose for the global cyclist to explore. San Jose to Cupertino and Saratoga Loop (53.13 km/33.01 mi)

This trip is moderately intense and offers a great tour of Cupertino and Saratoga. The route begins right near Guadalupe River Park, and then takes you around Saratoga and through the Stevens Creek Country Park. On your route you will ride close to the Stevens Creek Reservoir which offers some beautiful views. After exploring the park all you want, you will continue your journey and go through Mt. Eden. You will then get the opportunity to see Cupertino and then loop back to the beginning. The elevation gained is about 1407 feet and the duration is about 2 hours.

San Jose - Apple Park - Stanford Loop (75.95 km/47.19 mi)

This trip is moderately intense and offers a great tour of Apple Park, and takes you in a loop around Stanford University. The route begins at right near Guadalupe River Park, and then takes you to the famous, astonishing Apple Park. After getting the chance to explore around Apple Park, you can continue your journey up to Stanford University. One of the beautiful sites on Stanford's campus you will get the chance to cycle by, is the Stanford golf course. From here you will loop around the university and make your way back to San Jose along a different route than on the way there. The elevation gained is about 1886 feet and the duration is about 4 hours.

Mt. Hamilton and The Lick Observatory (85.76 km/53.28 mi)

This trip is more intense and offers a great tour of Guadalupe River Park, Mt. Hamilton, and beautiful views from the Lick Observatory. The route begins at Plaza de César Chávez, and then takes you through Guadalupe River Park. Then travel along Mabury Road and reach Mt. Hamilton Road. From here you get to travel through Mt. Hamilton until you reach the Lick Observatory. From here you will see some breathtaking views. The elevation gained is about 5,410 feet and the duration is about 6 hours.

San Jose to Facebook, Sand Hill Road, Stanford, Google, and Apple Park Loop (94.23 km/58.55 mi)

This route is an easier difficulty level, and gives you the chance to see the most popular destinations in Silicon Valley. The route kicks off near Guadalupe River Park. You will start your journey on the Guadalupe River Trail, heading towards the Facebook HQ. Once you feel you have explored the Facebook HQ, continue on Sand Hill Road until you reach the alluring campus of Stanford University. After seeing Stanford, you can make your way to the Googleplex. The final destination on the route will be Apple Park. This route will give you endless photo-ops and some fantastic destinations in Silicon Valley. The route is mostly flat; elevation gained is about 803 feet and the duration is about 5 hours.
